The Earth Charter/UNESCO International CD (16 songs) and San Francisco CDs (27 songs)
25% of the net profit from the sale of the CDs are to be donated equally to UNESCO, Earth Charter International and Pour la Terre. An additional 25% from the net profit from sales of the San Francisco Earth Charter/UNESCO CDs are to be donated to the San Francisco Unified School District Performing Arts Department toward musical productions promoting Sustainable Development and Earth Charter principles. We are pleased with the reaction to our International Earth Charter/UNESCO CD, to be digitally distributed to over 7500 UNESCO educational facilities in over 170 countries along with a companion school kit. Reactions from professionals have been overwhelmingly positive, as typified by Rubén Abraham, Strategic Marketing Manager for Warner Music México: “Great compilations”.
Our Earth Charter/UNESCO CD and school kit was produced in 2005 for distribution in the framework of the launching year of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and contains major and independent artists from throughout the world. Two CDs contain 21songs. The product is to be freely distributed to UNESCO instructors, or available to UNESCO instructors by a secured FTP internet site, in educational facilities throughout the world by UNESCO. We are inspired by the enthusiastic and dedicated participation of major internationally respected artists such as Grateful Dead, Huey Lewis, Kitaro, Maná, Youssou N’Dour, Chico and the Gypsies, Naveen Kumar, Zehava Ben,Tokiko Kato, Yannick Noah, Meiway, Mickey3D, Dolphin,Clear Blue 22, Raffi, and others. All UNESCO approved songs are selected for their musical quality and the messages that they transmit. Each song helps in promoting a new vision of the world as the key to a successful UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. UNESCO was given the task by the United Nations of coordinating efforts to implement the U.N. Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and UNESCO believes that Earth Charter CDs/School Kits and concerts are an important way to deliver the message to children. UNESCO is primarily responsible for coordinating efforts to implement the U.N. Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

- We are happy to have as UNESCO featured artists Abby of Abby and the Pipsqueaks and the internationally loved and respected Liel.. The meteoric rise of Liel’s career from the age of twelve to the present day has been astounding. Often compared with the likes of Celine Dion, Liel has been blessed with an immensely talented voice, beauty and persona that continue to captivate audiences around the world. At the still tender age of eighteen, Liel performs all over the Globe and has shared international stages with President Bill Clinton, Bono, Elton John, The Scorpions, and many other international stars. Born and raised on a Kibbutz in the north of Israel, her personal crusade for the safety and well being of children all over the world has brought her to the attention of the Pope, for whom she will perform in Rome, on May 29 of this year. - Abby and the Pipsqueaks creator Michele Senitzer has been working with kids since 1989. Michele received her B.A. in Music Composition from State University of New York at Albany in 1993, relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1994. She started The Clown Company in 1995 – the #1 Bay Area kids entertainment agency in the Bay Area for 13 years.. San Francisco Mayor Newsom honored Abby and the Pipsqueaks creator/composer Michele Senitzer in the 2004 “Shop Outside the Box” entrepreneur showcase. 2002 Album Try Try Again was a WINNER of Best Educational Album for Young Children in the Children’s Music Web Awards. 2001 Album Pancakes, Anyone? was a WINNER for Best Album for Toddlers in the Childrens Music Web Awards. - 25% of the net profit from the sale of the CDs are to be donated equally to UNESCO Education for Sustainable Development programs
- Gary Pickus recently launched his own label, Peacebridge Records, whose mission is to provide “moving music toward a brighter tomorrow” everywhere. Anchored by his own instrumental projects, Peacebridge also includes an expanding roster representing a variety of contemporary instrumental and vocal artists Gary is mentoring and producing. An evolving project is the establishment of an international collaboration center for musical artists that exemplifies the best of human nature, and opens the eyes and ears of the world to endless possibilities untapped. Reflecting his lifetime mission to increase multi-cultural understanding and inspired by a calling to uplift, the music of Gary Pickus is as universal as it is personal. His soulful melodies and creative arrangements are evocative and lasting. Passionate, eclectic, and authentic: words to describe Gary Pickus, the artist and the person. |
