About Us
Association Pour la Terre, a French
non-profit association since 2001, is dedicated to preserving and
protecting our planet through active participation in projects ranging
from environmental protection to educating impressionably aged children
in principles of Sustainable Development through the production of
artists for CDs, DVDs, musical productions, and related School Kits as
part of UNESCO's Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
Our association has been given a specific
tax status under the French Tax Code, enabling donations and funds to be
tax deductible. Our Association is also officially deemed “ agrée pour
l’ environnement”, an honored recognition for efforts performed in the
service of the environment, issued by the Préfecture (Government
Council.)
Pour la Terre's immediate concern is the
education of our children in the principles embodied within the
UNESCO-adopted Earth Charter (http://www.earthcharter.org)
and has been acting for several years with the endorsements of the
Secretary General of UNESCO and the Earth Charter Secretariat to produce
CDs, School Kits, and other multimedia presentations for distribution
throughout the world as part of the Decade of Education for Sustainable
Development (2005-2014). To date we have produced six UNESCO CDs, the
first of which (double CD with 21 songs) is freely available for
download, with school kit, to over 7600 UNESCO teaching facilities in
over 183 countries.
In addition to UNESCO, Earth Charter
International, WWF-France and Association Agora Energy/Planète Art
Energie, Pour la Terre is now endorsed by the United Nations
Environmental Program (UNEP), the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation,
Foundation Sophia-Antipolis, Association Art et Environnement and others
as explained in our Welcome page. Association Pour la Terre is also
proud to have recently been accepted as a member of the French Alliance.
Production for the Billion Tree CD and
School Kit and “A Tree for Peace; A Tree for the Earth” CD and School
Kit has commenced.
Our Monaco Lions Club/UNESCO H20 CD and
School Kit, freely distributed to 1500 school children in October 2006,
was an acknowledged success, and we look forward to similar projects
planned for Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and hopefully throughout the
world.
